Accenture has acquired Kogentix, a big data and AI solutions company. Accenture Applied Intelligence says that the Schaumberg, Illinois-based will add to its growing data engineering business, particularly in North America.

Kogentix’s platform is designed to help organizations with legacy systems move them over to a computing environment that can support big data analytics.

Kogentix, founded in 2015, has a team of nearly 220 big data engineers, data scientists, machine learning engineers, and software developers. In addition to its Schaumburg headquarters, Kogentix has offices in Pleasanton, Cal., Hyderabad and Bangalore (India), Singapore, and Jakarta (Indonesia).

Accenture Applied Intelligence has added a few companies to its portfolio in recent years as big data analytics becomes a key part of the technology picture for public and private sector organizations.

Kogentix CEO and founder Boyd Davis and the other co-founders, COO Sanjay Gogia, CTO Jai Malhotra, and President Krishna Nimmagadda will stay on and continue to have a role in the business.

Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
