Pennsylvania has partnered with CalAmp, a provider of telematics technology, to improve how it manages its government vehicles.
CalAmp’s outlook platform for government can be used to monitor state fleets as well as mixed asset fleets. CalAmp also has a module available for public safety vehicle management.
The Commonwealth of Pennsylvania’s Bureau of Vehicle Management (BVM) oversees approximately 11,000 passenger, emergency and off-road vehicles. CalAmp’s FleetOutlook will be deployed on nearly half its vehicles across the state to provide data about vehicle utilization and operational status.
Driver assistance and real-time accident alerts are FleetOutlook capabilities that BVM will be leveraging to further encourage good driving behavior and improve worker safety.
“We look forward to implementing CalAmp’s IoT technologies in our efforts to improve the safety and management of the Commonwealth’s vehicles fleet,” said James Fiore, director, Pennsylvania Department of General Services, Bureau of Vehicle Management.
