Cog Systems will work with immmixGroup to distribute its secure mobile telephone service to state and local governments. Under the agreement, immixGroup has added Cog Systems’ D4 Secure software, products and services to its U.S.-based nationwide local, state and federal government purchasing vehicles.
Prior to developing the D4 platform, Cog Systems designed “hardened” communications systems for the government and intelligence communities on a made-to-order basis. The D4 platform offers secured software for mobile phones and SDKs.
As CivSource previously reported, the company launched an HTC Android phone running D4 out of the box, for the same price as consumer models. The device is currently in use by the U.S. Department of Defense and is the first virtualization-based smartphone security system to be certified on the U.S. Commercial Solutions for Classified (CSfC) list.
The D4 Secure Platform running on HTC is the first cybersecurity smartphone solution to be listed on the NSA’s Commercial Solutions for Classified (CSfC) program that uses virtualization, which the NSA has only required on more powerful devices such as PCs and laptops.
