IBM has acquired Optevia, a privately owned Software as a service, (SaaS), systems integrator specializing in Microsoft Dynamics CRM solutions for public sector organizations. Optevia will join IBM Global Business Services and help meet the increasing client demand for CRM SaaS solutions within the public sector.

Optevia has a specialty in UK public sector organizations, but IBM says that through the acquisition they plan to scale the company’s abilities to a global audience including the US.

According to IBM, the worldwide opportunity for Customer Relationship Management(CRM) solutions is in excess of $23 billion, with cloud-based offerings accounting for half of that. The company says it plans to become a leading SaaS and digital consultant in this area.

Optevia was founded in 2001. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
