LexisNexis and SunGard have teamed up on an integrated crash reporting solution. The offering will be part of an expanding public safety business line from both companies.
The new product combines the LexisNexis Police Reports eCommerce portal with the SunGard Public Sector ONESolution Records Management System. Together, the two products create an end-to-end system for managing traffic accident reports online.
In the field, law enforcement will be able to upload crash reports to their own systems and from there, the technology allows them to be sent out to insurance agencies, law firms and individuals. Historically, this has been a paper-based process with lag time between completion and dissemination. SunGard RMS will lend additional storage capabilities to the product and make them accessible over the long-term.
LexisNexis will include the feature as part of its Coplogic platform. As CivSource has previously reported, the company has been on a bit of an M&A spree over the past year, adding features to Coplogic and improving integration with other vendors. SunGard has also been working on improving the interoperability of its product suite across vendor environments.
“This is the type of strategic engagement we are always searching for in order to enhance the delivery of our RMS capabilities and help drive internal efficiencies for our law enforcement customers,” said Kevin Lafeber, Vice President and General Manager, SunGard Public Sector.
