Los Angeles County has expanded its agreement with Tyler Technologies to use Tyler’s EnerGov platform within the Department of Public Works. Los Angeles County selected EnerGov in 2014 for the county’s Department of Regional Planning. The software is a planning, regulatory and maintenance solution specifically designed for the public sector.
Outside consultants for the county suggested expanding the instances of EnerGov to enable information sharing between the two departments.
Approximately 90 percent of land development processes occur between the county’s departments of Public Works and Regional Planning. Information sharing will allow the two departments to automate operations such as land-use planning, regulatory permitting, enforcement case management, inspections and citizen requests.
Additionally, EnerGov’s mobile applications will provide Los Angeles County staff with real-time access to data and GIS spatial analysis while in the field.
The Department of Public Works is expected to begin implementing EnerGov in November 2015.
