San Francisco is upgrading its financial management system and has awarded a contract to Accenture for the work. The system will be built on the Accenture Enterprise Services for Government platform, including Oracle’s PeopleSoft Financial Management software and Business Intelligence software.

The city wants to streamline its existing financial management operations in order to provide more transparency to the public and make more strategic decisions.

Accenture will act as the systems integrator on the project and will be working with both city and county officials.

In addition to updating city systems, San Francisco is also considering two ballot measures that would further open city meetings by allowing video testimony to be submitted if an individual couldn’t attend a meeting in person, and another which could require more people to register as lobbyists if they try to influence city officials.
