The St. Louis Police Department has launched a real time crime center with Motorola Solutions technology. The technology will identify and distribute information to officers before crimes occur, during active incidents and in support of investigations.

Motorola’s crime intelligence offering aggregates and correlates data from multiple sources such as video, sensors, alarms, computer-aided dispatch (CAD) and records management systems. Crime center analysts and officers can then seamlessly send that information out to first responders on the scene.

The St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department is also a customer of PublicEngines, which was recently acquired by Motorola Solutions. PublicEngines’ technology will combine with the real time solution to provide additional insights.

As part of the initial deployment, Motorola Solutions will install two real time client positions, a video wall with eight displays (expandable to 32 displays), existing video management systems integrated with CAD and third-party applications such as gunshot detection solution ShotSpotter.

The department plans to staff the real-time crime center with analysts 24 hours a day.
