The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) is beefing up its cybersecurity effort. Merlin International was given a $21 million enterprise-wide contract for Host Intrusion Prevention (HIPs), and Anti-Spyware/Malware. The contract is a five year contract with one base year and four option years.
Over the course of the award, the VA may acquire $21 million in technologies from Merlin including key solution components from McAfee as well as infrastructure and storage components from NetApp, Cisco and F5 networks. The VA may also procure $27 million in professional services over the life of the contract. Merlin and partners will provide services for project management, engineering, and operation and maintenance (O&M) support to protect desktops, laptops, and servers in the VA OIT enterprise.
Colorad-based Merlin International provides federal cybsersecurity solutions, supporting defense, civiliand and healthcare efforts. Federal operations are centered in Vienna, Virginia.
