The City of Irvine, California will extend its fifteen-year relationship with Affiliated Computer Services, Inc., by providing information technology services, the company announced today.
ACS and the City of Irvine signed a five-year, $18 million contract to continue IT services through June 2014. ACS will manage IT operations and provide a range of services, including support for the city’s data center, helpdesk and desktop support, applications support and network management. ACS will also consult with the city’s public safety department and align IT operations with the city’s business objectives.
“This extended agreement is a good example of how ACS’ client-focused approach can create and grow long-term partnerships,” Joseph Doherty, president of ACS Government Solutions Group, said in a statement.
In 2006, ACS and the Irvine Police Department Business License Unit launched a program to allow community business licenses to be renewed online, called E-Connect. The application allows users to view a list of recently issued business licenses, search for a specific business Online, as well as renew a business license.
