Cuban remittance and travel ban lifted

President Barack Obama announced today that travel and remittance restrictions for Cuban-Americans will ease, according to Bloomberg. In 2004 President George W. Bush imposed bans on family travel and remittances to Cuba. But todays actions by President Obama will permit Cuban-Americans to visit and send money to relatives living in Cuba, an administration official said.

The announcement comes ahead of the President’s trip to the Summit of the America’s in Trinidad.
