At-Scene, a provider of mobile law enforcement applications and solutions, has launched iCrime FighterTM Enterprise, a mobile evidence gathering solution for fast, secure field data collection using smart phones and other mobile devices. The company released the product at the International Association of Chiefs of Police conference in Philadelphia, PA. The application enables officers in the field to quickly capture field notes, evidence, images, videos and audio statements at the scene securely upload all files to http://www.icrimefighter.com.

iCrime Fighter Enterprise is FIPS 140-2 compliant, using advanced encryption to safely upload data to the AWS GovCloud.

The company says that the application moves crime data off of devices and into a secure environment ensuring that records remain in tact if devices are lost or stolen. The application format works with bring your own device (BYOD) programs as well.

Last week, CivSource reported on new offerings for body-worn cameras designed for law enforcement officials. Motorola Solutions partnered with Vievu on that product. Motorola Solutions is also working on the FirstNet, a broadband network for first responders. A growing number of products and applications are being developed to capture comprehensive crime data and limit the chain of custody.

The application saves data to the AWS GovCloud instantly which will allow officers to work without digital cameras, notebooks, other devices. SD cards are not needed as the data storage is not local to the device.

“In addition to data security issues, once an officer starts using a smartphone for evidence-gathering, all data stored on the device makes the entire device subject to subpoena,” explains Mario Galasso, CEO of At-Scene. Galasso was formerly a police officer himself. Instead of taking the phone, courts can now get the data from the cloud.

The app is available on both iOS and Android.
